Who is responsible
This instance of Life OS is run by Nils Plützer as a personal portfolio project (see the legal notice). For anything concerning your data on this instance, write to contact@nils-pzr.eu.
This instance is a showcase
This public deployment exists so the project can be seen running — it is not a commercial service. If you create an account here, your e-mail address and a password hash are stored solely to operate your login. Beyond that: no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party tracking.
Server logs
Like any web server, the hosting infrastructure records technical access data — IP address, browser signature, timestamp — for security and operations, and nothing else. Application logs record table names and IDs, never your actual values.
Cookies
Only strictly necessary cookies are set: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and a preference that remembers your theme. There are no tracking cookies — which is why there is no cookie banner.
Self-hosted by design
Life OS is built to run on infrastructure you control. Deployed yourself, your data lives in your own PostgreSQL database, on your own server — this site’s deployment is simply the author’s own instance, opened as a demonstration.
Your most sensitive data
Health, finance and journal entries are the most sensitive data a person has. Every row is tied to your account and isolated at the database level by row-level security; your journal is encrypted at rest, so a stolen disk or backup yields only ciphertext; and application logs record table names and IDs, never your actual values.
The AI coach
The coach is read-only by default and stays off until you connect an AI provider key (or point it at a local model). When you connect one, a window of your numbers is sent to the provider you chose — your journal’s words are never sent, only the mood and energy numbers, and the model never receives your account id. If you run a local model, nothing leaves your machine. Every AI assembly and completion is written to an on-instance audit ledger, and spend is capped daily and monthly.
Your rights (GDPR)
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restriction of its processing, data portability, and you may object to processing — one e-mail to the address above is enough. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. On your own instance you never need to ask: the database is yours to export or erase at any time, by design, across every module.
